Last month, a robbery took place in a bank in Jaipur. I had gone there to deposit a cheque. A large number of customers were waiting at the windows and counters of the bank for getting things done. Suddenly, five people in kurtas and pajamas, with pistols in their hands appeared from somewhere. Two of them stood at the gate after snatching the gun from the guard. One of them went to the manager’s table and threatened him not to make any movement or raise an alarm. Another went to the cashier’s counter and asked him to hand over all the cash lying with him. The third one kept a watch on the customers. After collecting the cash, all five jumped upon three motorcycles kept ready for them by their companions outside the bank building. The police were informed after they had gone. It was a robbery involving a sum of 5 lac.
