A farmer had four sons. They quarreled among themselves. The farmer advised them not to quarrel. But all in vain.
One day, the farmer fell ill. He knew that his end was near. He called his sons. Then he ordered a bundle of sticks. Soon a bundle was brought. He asked each of them to break it. They tried them one by one. But none of them could break it.
The farmer asked them to untie the bundle and break the sticks. Very soon all the sticks were broken. Now the farmer advised them to live united like the bundle. The sons learned a lesson. They never quarreled again.
Moral: union is strength. OR united we stand, divided we fall.
