There was a shepherd boy in a village. He used to take his sheep for grazing on a small hill. There was a thick forest near the hill.
One day he thought of playing a joke on the villagers. He shouted, “wolf! wolf! come and save me.” The villagers heard his cries. They rushed to help him. When they reached the hill, they saw no wolf. The shepherd boy laughed and said that it was only a joke. The villagers were very angry with him. They went away.
After some days they again heard the boy’s cries. A wolf had really come there. The villagers thought that he was joking. They did not go to help him. The wolf killed the boy and his sheep too.
